Zapote celebrations brought families together

December 25, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Las Fiestas de San José 2017 started on Monday in Zapote and Curridabat. Carousels, restaurants, food areas, minibars and other attractions opened up on time.

Families and people of all ages walked through the fairgrounds, looking at the mechanical games for children and other attractions.

There’s security in Zapote. We have 200 officers for whatever happens,”

added Leonardo Araya, president of the Popular Festivities Commission of the Municipality of San José.

The first bullfight of this season began at 3:00 p.m. This event will run until January 7th, 2018. There will be two bullfighting events a day, one at 3:00 p.m. and another at 8:00 p.m.

If you are going to these celebrations, it is important that you follow a series of advice provided by the authorities:
• Park your vehicle properly.
• Take the children with a document containing the name of the parents and a contact number, in case they get lost.
• Remind your child that if they gets lost, they should look for a police officer to help them.
• Do not carry valuables or items that could be easily removed from your clothes.
• Try not to carry large sums of money.
• Any irregularity can be reported to 9-1-1 or to the police in the fairgrounds.
