Zapote’s overpass works begin today

January 14, 2019 by Staff News Writer

If you have things to do near the roundabout of the Social Guarantees, pay attention. The transport authorities confirmed the beginning of the works for the project of the overpass in the roundabout.

The project will start with the transfer of the monument to the Social Guarantees and creation of lanes.

The main objective of the works is to improve road conditions and reduce traffic jams in Circunvalación. The project includes the construction of a six-lane tunnel, sidewalks, bus bays and an uninterrupted passage from south to north and vice versa.

The project will facilitate the transit of the 56 thousand vehicles that circulate per day in that area.

This would join the one inaugurated in 2016 at the Guacamaya roundabout, which will also include overpasses in front of the University of Costa Rica entrance, the Flag roundabout and the Guadalupe junction in the future.
