National authorities seized a series of real estates that belonged to a Costa Rican surnamed Rivera Blandón. This man, who presented himself as a Golfito fisherman, had properties valued at $ 2 million and would be the product of drug trafficking.

According to Wálter Espinoza, director of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ), the raids aimed to take the assets so they are administered by the Costa Rican Institute on Drugs (ICD) to later try to make them state properties.

Rivera was arrested in Colombia on February 14th. He is wanted by US authorities. The man owned properties such as:

-A ranch located in Golfito
-A commercial business store called “Los Gemelos”
-2 luxury homes in Golfito
