100 truck drivers carried out a peaceful demonstration outside Moín’s docks

November 18, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The union of the National Association of Public and Private Employees (ANEP) announced that about 100 truck drivers carried out a peaceful demonstration outside Moín’s docks in Limón.

As indicated by the labor union, officials from Japdeva keep blocking the docks entrance gates and this causes up-to-an-hour delays for the truck drivers.

The truck drivers’ economic situation is already complicated and these gentlemen complicate it even more: they make us wait an hour with our trucks started to enter the docks. This is too expensive for us, since fuel costs increase. Furthermore, there are environmental damages, simply because they do not want to keep the gates open,

declared Gerardo Rodríguez, sub-coordinator of the National Truck Union, who indicated that this situation takes place every day.

He added that civilians from Limón and from the Tony Facio Hospital are also affected by this problem.
