21 municipalities will apply Prohibition in Easter

Until Thursday, a total of 21 municipalities indicated that they will apply the Prohibition duringEaster time, according to a survey conducted by the National Union of Local Governments (UNGL), whiel 53 municipalities indicated that they would not do so.

The prohibition of the sale of liquor in the cantons is an exclusive power of the Municipal Councils.

The Prohibition establishes a system of sanctions to be applied by the municipalities, specifically in article 14, so that businesses that do not comply with this restriction are exposed to the closure of the business and pay a fine of 1 to 10 base salaries.
Municipalities that will apply it:

Belén: Thursday and Holy Friday
Cartago: The municipality of the Central Canton of Carthage will apply it only on Good Friday all day throughout the canton
San Isidro
Leon Cortés: Thursday and Friday
Esparza: District first Thursday and Friday
Corredores: Thursday and Friday
Puriscal: Thursday and Friday
Tarrazú: Thursday and Friday
Vázquez de Coronado: Thursday and Friday
Turrialba: Thursday and Friday
Flores: Thursdays and Fridays
Dota: Thursday and Friday
Paraíso: Thursday and Friday where the processions passes
Heredia: Thursday and Friday
Naranjo: Only Friday
Goicoechea: Thursday and Friday
El Guarco: Thursday and Friday
La Unión: Thursday and Friday
Canes: Thursday and Friday
Alvarado: Thursday and Friday
Oreamuno: Thursday and Friday
