3 months of detention for the bank robbery culprits

September 2, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Sarapiquí Criminal Court ordered three months of preventive detention for the five culprits of aggravated robbery that took place at the National Bank of Finca 6 in Rio Frío.

The robbers broke into the bank office with AK-47 guns, and forced people who were there to lie on the ground, and took the money from the bank vault and the bank counters. The men stole about 80 million colones and then fled from the place. They wounded two bank employees.

The OIJ confirmed that 4 out of the 5 culprits have records of theft and illegal possession of weapons.
