300 million colones were stolen! Police is looking for the criminals

August 3, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Approximately 300 million colones were stolen on Monday night after an assault on a truck in Alajuela.

Apparently, the truck had collected money at different trade points in the center of Alajuela. At about 8:00 pm, it was in a mall in the area, where it was collecting the last amount of money of that day.

3 guards presumably left the truck and one remained in it. At that moment an armed subject got in the truck and threatened him. He took the vehicle, along with the guard, and drove around Montecillos, in the same province.

There, the suspect changed vehicle, where the guard was tied. Criminals put a hood over his head.

He was released near Rio Grande bridge. The truck was found at night in Montecillos.

Police officers are investigating the case to come up with the suspects of this assault.
