4 swimmers were rescued after being swept away by the current

Four swimmers who were enjoying the sea in Playa Cuajiniquil had to be rescued on Sunday afternoon after being washed away by an ocean current.

According to information from the Monitoring Center of the Costa Rican Red Cross, the 4 victims were successfully rescued and are now in good health conditions.

Cuajiniquil beach is located in the North Pacific of the country, in the canton of Santa Cruz, province of Guanacaste.

Lifeguards in the area and the Red Cross assisted the swimmers. Officials remind swimmers to take precautions when they are in the sea.
