5 subjects were performing illegal fishing in Nandayure

Officers of the National Coast Guard Service (SNG), in Puerto Coyote in Nandayure, Guanacaste found five people who were performing illegal fishing. The incident happened on January 12th.

The arrested subjects are surnamed Salas, Chaves, Talis and Rodríguez.

One of the vessels was called Pataraya I, registration P-12295. The SNG confirmed that one of the ships had an expired license.

Officers transferred the subjects to the Nicoya Prosecutor’s Office for due process. In addition, the fishing gear and boats were seized by the Coast Guard.
