Foreigner arrested for illegal logging in Guanacaste

The operational work of the security forces in Cuajiniquil Santa Cruz during this weekend led to positive results: police officers and officials from the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) seized 37 cedar planks, 31 logs of trees and a 4 × 4vehicle. A Nicaraguan national named Witt was arrested for the crime of illegal logging.

The seized timber was from cedar, Gmelina arborea and Cassia fistula species.
