During a patrol control held this weekend at the mouth of the Colorado River in the North Caribbean coast, the National Coast Guard Service (SNG) managed to seize 500 meters of trammel nets and a canoe.

The SNG had registered several complaints about illegal fishing in the area, so they conducted a series of patrols, which allowed them to locate the nets and the boat.

Coast Guard officials continue to provide assistance for the populations of Colorado and Barras de Tortuguero.
