7 countries to discuss progress on LGBTI population rights

From Wednesday until Friday, seven countries will discuss the progress in the human rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people (LGTBI).

Representatives of the offices Human Rights Ombudsman of Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, and Guatemala will participate in the event, organized by Montserrat Solano, Ombudsman of Costa Rica, within the framework of the commemoration of the month against Homophobia, Lesbophobia and Transphobia.

The activity is held at the Hotel Tryp Sabana.

Mariel Ortega, from the Rapporteurship on LGBTI rights of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), will present the Commission’s Report on “Violence against LGBTI Population.”
