6 Haitian citizens will be deported

November 16, 2016 by Staff News Writer

From November 15th until November 19th, the Immigration Police will deport six Haitian citizens who did not legalize their immigration status in Costa Rica.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Nationality reported that these people are surnamed Bertho, Vary, Francisque, Ariste, Stivel, Lormilsaint. They have been at the Temporary Apprehension Center for Foreigners in Irregular Condition (CATECI), located in Hatillo, since September.

Due to the migration wave that has been taking place in the country, authorities have been urging people who enter the country to regulate their immigration status, in order to obtain the permits to be legally in Costa Rica.
