American convict was finally deported

June 27, 2016 by Staff News Writer

According to the Department of Immigration, John Wesley Saatio, an American arrested for being in Costa Rica illegally, was deported last Saturday at 12: 55 pm.

Saatio was taken from Heredia Prison to Juan Santamaría International Airport by immigration officials, security forces and Air Surveillance. Airport authorities also contributed with the security.

The process was coordinated with the US government due to a security issue. Saatio was escorted by United States Marshals Service (USMS) officers, who traveled to Texas. From now on, monitoring and treatment of the subject will be American authority’s responsibility.

Saatio has many worrying records. He was captured at Jacó, but afterwards, he escaped from Centro para Aprehendidos de Migración located in Hatillo and then he was arrested again in Desamparados. After living and working in Costa Rica for a year, the criminal was finally deported to the United States. Saatio escaped American authorities on June 14th, 2015 after attending a hearing in Wisconsin.
