San Juan de Dios Hospital’s emergency service improved after the transfer of some Patients

December 6, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The transfer of several patients from San Juan de Dios Hospital to other care centers, allowed the emergency service to work better the past weekend.

From the previous week the service was collapsed again with more than 81 patients who had to wait in the service due to a lack of beds to hospitalize them.

In addition to the transfers, the discharge of other patients who were hospitalized was accelerated.

For the next year, the Board of Directors of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) intends to modernize the hospital with 4 priority works, including an emergency tower.

However, because there are many procedures yet to be managed, the month of the year for the beginning of the construction is unknown.
