Turrialba’s impressive eruption

January 5, 2017 by Staff News Writer

RSN

Turrialba Volcano has kept a steady emission of gas and ash during the last hours. The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica and the National Seismological Network (RSN) published a series of photographs and a video showing its activity from Wednesday.

According to the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), the wind direction is towards the southwest.

Reports of abundant ashfall are generated from various sectors of the Central Valley.

Coronado, Moravia, Guadalupe, Tibás and Heredia neighbors have been reporting through social networks the large amount of ash, which is evident in the environment.
