Almost 450 people arrested in Palmares’ celebrations

In 2016, the celebrations in Palmares ended with 322 people arrested and this year the figure reached 434, most of them by possession or use of drugs.

According to the Press Office of the Ministry of Public Security, police officers also seized sharp weapons and a significant amount of drugs, including marijuana and crack cocaine.

Among the arrested individuals there are three subjects who were arrested for crimes against property, theft or robbery, and two more for domestic violence.

Thirteen subjects were also captured for crimes against public authority and four others for violations of the Law on Weapons and Explosives.

In total, 375 people were arrested for violations of the Psychotropic Law, from drug possession to consumption on public roads.

As for public disorder, especially fights by drunken subjects, authorities reported 23 misdemeanors.

On the issue of drugs, the Public Force seized 273.7 grams of marijuana, 295 marijuana buds and 136 cigarettes of this type of drug. In addition, they seized 68 doses of cocaine and 19 doses of crack.
