One week to learn about healthy lifestyles

March 14, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The National Institute of Learning (INA) will host a fair to inform and educate people about healthy lifestyles, from March 13th to March 17th.

“Don’t let alcohol run your life” is the motto of the health fair that will be held in La Uruca, in front of the facilities of the Amusement Park.

Fifteen students and three teachers of Health Sciences (medicine, psychology, nutrition and nursing) of the Universidad Hispanoamericana will participate in the fair.

Yamileth Ramírez, coordinator of the Health Unit of INA, said that for some time they have been working on prevention, but during the fair they will emphasize the issue of the risks of consuming alcohol, as it is an important for the assistance of more than four thousand people.

Although the organizers are expecting officials, students and family members, the invitation is extended to the general public, so they can use some of the services provided by the activity, such as examinations and medical care.

There will be three stands located in front of the Health Unit, where basic medical consultation services will be provided to all attendees, aswell as weight, height, body mass index and blood sugar levels measurements.

In addition, attendees will also be able to find specialists in psychology who will only be available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Aarón Ocampo, deputy director of Psychology, explained that they will demonstrate psychological micro-evaluations in stress management with high technology equipment.

This test uses a computer that has software with a series of games with sensors to measure the heart rate and detect if the person is subjected to great emotional pressure.
