On Tuesday, police evicted a total of 55 families that had invaded land in Bellavista de Puntarenas in order to build a shanty town. After the eviction, at least two people were arrested for violence. Authorities took possession of the land and allowed the families to gather their belongings and leave.

Police will remain on site until the last person leaves, and the structures are destroyed.
