Authorities detained Rodney Rubio Soto

March 17, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Authorities from the Prison Police detained Rodney Rubio Soto, who had escaped on Wednesday night from the institution, located in Pococí.

He didn’t escape alone: Olman Espinoza and Raudi Padilla also escaped, but they have not been located yet.

Several operations have been carried out to find them. David Delgado, a spokesman for the Justice Ministry, confirmed the arrest took place near Santa Clara gas station.

Rodney Rubio was serving a 7-year sentence for aggravated robbery. He entered the penal center on August 22nd, 2014 and he was supposed to be released on October 22nd, 2018.

Meanwhile, Raudy Padilla Jiménez serves a 12-year sentence for homicide and Espinoza Jiménez serves a 3-year sentence for aggravated robbery.

Judicial authorities indicated that the 3 of them were in a minimum-security regime, which means they had very little supervision.
