Detained foreigner still missing

May 9, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Costa Rican authorities still don’t know the whereabouts of the foreigner detained on May, 7th by five Fuerza Pública officers, in a non-police action at Walmart in Heredia.

The officers took the man from his car, which is registered to an Italian citizen and was left at Walmart’s parking lot with open doors.

Although the five officers were pulled-over later on, the man was no longer in the patrol.

Afterwards, the Ministerio de Seguridad Pública stated the five officers, identified as Navarro, Vargas, Rodríguez, Espinoza y Matarrita, were in the hands of the authorities.

Gustavo Mata, Security Minister, asked for a zero tolerance policy towards corruption.
