Suspects of producing marijuana oil go to prison

June 5, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The couple suspected of producing and selling drugs in a house in a luxury residence in Alajuela will go to six months in pre-trial arrest.

A man named Araya and a woman named Núñez were arrested on Friday in a raid by the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ).

The subjects were apparently engaged in selling LSD, cripy-type marijuana, a drug known as crystal and marijuana oil.

The judicial police found a laboratory where the oil was produced using butane gas and special lighting. This product was sold at 25 thousand colones per unit.

The suspects paid two thousand dollars a month in rent for the house located in the residential area known as Montenegro.

The raid seized cripy-type marijuana, ready-to-sell cocoons, LSD, marijuana oil, crystal-type drug, $ 10,000 cash and four million colones in cash.

The dose of marijuana oil was sold in a kind of test tube.

They have a low profile, but those who buy are high class. We know this by the volume of sale,”

said the official at a press conference on Friday.
