Deputy Minister of Youth resigned for “personal reasons”

October 3, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Deputy Youth Minister José Ricardo Sánchez resigned for personal reasons, as confirmed by the Ministry of Culture and Youth.

In a press release, the Ministry stated that Sánchez, who held this position since October 2015, presented the resignation motivated by the interest to resume his academic training and attend new social and political projects.

Its place is occupied now Viviana Boza Chacón, whom the ministry describes as a researcher, advisor and specialist in studies and youth policies in Latin America.

Previously, Boza worked as an advisor to the vice minister on employment, entrepreneurship, gender, childhood and adolescence, disability, young people who do not study or work, and youth.

We will continue to strengthen the articulated work between institutions and civil society, and actions to improve youth employment and education opportunities; as well as the reform of the National Youth System. I am committed to the goal of improving the quality of life for Costa Rican youth, especially for the most vulnerable, such as young people from rural, coastal, island and marginal urban areas,”

said Boza.

Before leaving his position, Sánchez gave a work report to the National Assembly of the Young Person and the Board of Directors of the Young Person Council.
