Swarovski, which specializes in precision glass cutting, announced on Monday that it will establish a business services center in Costa Rica to service its operations on the continent.

This company, created in 1895, will develop its Global Business Services (GBS) over several years. The opening is part of a global strategy to ensure that the function of finance and administration, allow a high performance of the company. As part of this initiative some specific administrative activities, which are close to the regional market and its equipment, will be managed from Costa Rica.

Swarovski has found in Costa Rica a strategic ally that welcomes its operations from a corporate service center, thanks to the country’s recognized track record as a favorable destination for the development of high-performance productive investments,”

said Alexander Mora, Minister of Commerce Exterior.

The official stressed that Costa Rica has a highly educated workforce, a key location and a stable political-economic environment. The services sector currently employs 54,800 Costa Ricans.

After a very thorough evaluation process, we have decided to establish the Swarovski Global Services Center in Costa Rica. Local authorities have been highly professional and committed to supporting us. This has created a solid foundation for maintaining our long-term commitment to the country,”
