CANATUR asks tour operators to be cautious of strong winds

December 13, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The National Chamber of Tourism asked the tourism sector operators to take precautions due to the strong gusts of wind and rains in the Caribbean, as a result of the cold front affecting the country.

In particular, they asked for caution in areas with vulnerability to landslides and floods and very strong waves due to the wind off the coasts of the entire Caribbean and North Pacific region.

The call is aimed, mainly, at tour operators, guides and tourism carriers so that they avoid risking their integrity and that of tourists in activities that involve access to mountainous areas such as national parks, hiking, canopy, or boat tours.

According to the IMN, the most intense bursts will begin to decrease from this Tuesday. However, the wind speeds will remain moderate to strong throughout the week.
