PANI organizes children’s elections for the first time

February 1, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The National Board of Children (PANI) provides the possibility for children and teenagers to exercise their right to vote on February 2nd. Elections will be held at the 52 local offices and at the Culture Center, located in Barrio Luján from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This is the first time that PANI will open its doors so that minors can experience this democratic exercise and choose, symbolically, the candidate who represents them the most.

In the PANI we want to democratize children’s elections so that minors from all over the country can experience this,”

said Dr. Elizabeth Ballestero, Technical Manager of the entity.

The only requirement to participate is having some identification document, either for the minor or the responsible adult who accompanies them.

Children’s elections have been held since 1986, but they have been limited to the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM). In the case of PANI, they will be made throughout the national territory.
