Authorities deported five mareros who were hidden in the country

November 28, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The Professional Migration Police deported five Salvadorans who were linked to maras and who had criminal records in their country of origin or in the United States.

As reported by the entity, the decision was made after results obtained after inquiries made to police databases. Thus it was determined that the subjects had links with highly dangerous groups such as maras and other gangs.

The foreigners were handed over to the authorities of El Salvador, for the corresponding procedures, because some were wanted for interrogatories and verification of pending issues,”

said the Professional Migration Police.

A man named Quintanilla Salinas was banned from entering the country, since he had been deported in 2017. He committed aggravated robbery in Costa Rica. Another subject, named Mira, had a criminal record for reception and illegal associations.

Costa Rican authorities also identified three subjects who had been expelled from the United States:

-Ramírez Villatoro was deported from the United States in 2001 and has a history of threats with edge weapons and has tattoos binding on the MS13 gang.
-Santamaría has a history of drug possession and aggravated extortion, and he was deported twice from the United States and linked to the MS13 gang in Los Angeles.
-Alvarado has a history of illegal and irresponsible possession of firearms and was deported from the United States in 2010.
