The Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) demands 53,740 million colones of worker-contractor fees from delinquent companies.

This money is requested through 4,436 claims filed between January and April this year.

Currently, 13,809 active companies owe 56,251 million colones. However, the biggest debt comes from 55,161 inactive firms that owe 131.243 million colones.

According to Gustavo Picado, financial general manager of CCSS, now 80 percent of the debt by this concept is being demanded in court.
