Segura: “attacks on dogs receive more attention than attacks on humans”

July 26, 2016 by Staff News Writer

When asked about the two cases of animal abuse reported over the weekend, legislator Aracelly Segura, from the National Liberation Party (PLN), said that

attacks on dogs receive more attention than attacks on humans.”

Look at the American who was attacked by crocodile (…) and no one has said anything, I don’t see it getting much attention,”

added Segura.

The legislator explained she does not support animal abuse but disagrees with many aspects of the animal welfare bill.

She immediately added that

people give more importance to a dog than a human being. We have left humanism for animal humanism.”

This weekend the cases of Viggo and other dog were made public. Viggo suffered a severe wound on his snout in Purral Goicoechea, and the other dog was shot in his jaw in Muelle de San Carlos.

Segura reiterated that some cases of animal abuse that come to light are fake.
