August 3, 2016 by Staff News Writer

According to the National Highway Council (CONAVI), national road network’s pavement preservation will begin within the next 15 days.

From now on, the administration must give the order to start these contracts and keep the service operating for the time established in the contracts,

explained Allan Ugalde, manager of the Administrative Contracting Division of the National Comptroller’s Office (CGR).

The works will be made in all regions around the country: Central region (San José, Heredia, Alajuela, Cártago), Chorotega region (Guanacaste), Central-Pacific region (Puntarenas), Brunca region (Puntarenas) and Huetar Norte and Atlántic region (Limón).

The CGR endorsed nine contracts for pavement’s regular maintenance and restoration:

These contracts include routes around the country and they were awarded to Meco, Hernán Solís and Quebradores del Sur companies,

stated Ugalde.

Constructora Meco S.A. will be in charge of routes 1, 5, 8, 9 and 10; Constructora Hernán Solís SRL will be responsible for routes 2, 4 and 6 and Quebradores del Sur SA will account for route 7.
