Taxi driver’s demonstration cost the country ¢ 72 million

Fuerza Pública’s operation to control the taxi drivers’ demonstration on Tuesday cost the country 72 million colones.

The police’s aim is to prevent blockages by the red force, which opposes the operation of Uber in the country.

The information was confirmed by Juan José Andrade Morales, director of Fuerza Pública, who added that the Air Surveillance Service of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) is also participating in the operation.

The expenses due to the protest will increase as the day progresses,”

said the MSP through a press release.

As part of the operation 36 taxi drivers have been arrested.
