President Solís: “I will not invite Putin to have lunch”

August 18, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The United Nations General Assembly will be held in late September, and President Luis Guillermo Solís is going to promote the candidacy of Christiana Figueres as UN Secretary-General.

Costa Rican Embassy in New York received instructions from the President to make the arrangements for him to meet with all possible organizations and other Heads of State in order to make lobby for the Costa Rican candidate.

Obviously, I´m not using any resources to obtain favors for her. I´m neither inviting Putin to have lunch nor having some drinks with the President of France,

stated Solís.

According to the President, he is been making phone calls, negotiations and visiting different countries. Those activities are going to continue until the election.

I will be completely dedicated to the promotion of her name and others aspects in the United Nations Assembly Agenda,

added Solís.
