The main suspect in a 8-year-old child’s death in Guácimo has records of child sexual abuse, as confirmed by the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ).

On Saturday night the body of a mutilated, beheaded minor was found near a river. A police operation, that included more than 200 officers and specialized units, started on Saturday at 8 pm when officers tried to locate Campos Mendoza, who is 23 years old. The suspect was arrested yesterday morning.

Minister of Public Security Gustavo Mata lamented the child’s painful death. According to the minister, police found several pieces of evidence in the detainee’s house, as well as blood on his clothes.
