Project seeks funds to save millions of lives

September 5, 2016 by Staff News Writer

A medical career is not for everyone and although Ricardo Chacón had a passion for it, he decided to take a different course and became a business administrator. However, the idea of helping people with health initiatives was always there.

That was the engine behind the creation of BeeMedics and BeeGeo, initiatives that aim to connect people who need help with medical institutes and clinics are willing to serve them.

For Chacón and his partner, the ophthalmologist David Flikier, any outbreak can be stopped with its initiative, but they need everyone’s cooperation.

Chacón claims this would help millions of patients with diseases such as cancer, viral, bacteriological, autoimmune diseases and more.

Late diagnosis, not having access to treatment at the right time, this happens in all walks of life , it’s not that people most likely to get sick are the ones with less access. BeeGeo is a tiny part of a larger system that aims to make people their own health administrator and have access to professional care not only locally, but also globally,”

said Chacón.

Patients can create an alert from a web platform, with a label specifying the disease and the alert would be seen by doctors, clinics and integrated health institutions. This way, specialists can refer that person to a professional who treats them quickly.

It is a health cooperation system to also help all professionals with support from other colleagues.

The project is seeking funds through the site Indiegogo. So far, they have only raised $ 60 but claim to believe in the solidarity of people to make this initiative a reality.
