Floods in the South Zone: material damages are increasing

September 6, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Due to the overflows of rivers and streams in the South Zone, multiple floods were reported before the National Commission for Emergency and Disaster Prevention (CNE) and the Red Cross.

Although there is no report of injured people, several families are affected because their homes were destreoyed. It was also informed that huts and trees fell due to the strong winds and heavy rains that took place in Corredores.

In addition, the Fire Department was alerted about the rising rivers: there was water all over the streets, a situation that worried inhabitants of the area due to the threat of more disasters.
