Ticos prefer Android system

Smartphone with Android system are most desired by Costa Ricans.


Leading the way in smart phone operating systems for Costa Rica, 68.73 percent of phones are equipped with Android. Most popular handsets for Android are the Samsung and Motorola. In second place the iPhone controls 17.51 percent of smart phones. Windows is in third place with 4.81 percent, and is expected to have the most growth in 2014. Less than one percent use a Black Berry. The numbers are similar to other Latin American countries where 1 in 7 people own a smart phone.
