September 20, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The kitchen and dining room from San Rafael Hospital in Alajuela will remain closed for several months until the area of nutrition is remodeled.

A new structure will be built and this process can take 9 to 10 months. We have already started to disassemble machines located in the nutrition service and they will be stored in the dining room,

explained Francisco Pérez, medical director of the hospital.

He added that several years ago, they agreed to perform these works due to infrastructure problems.

therefore, a request for bids was made in order to buy food for patients. In addition, workers will receive a subsidy for food.

According to Pérez, only special diets and formulas for newborns will be prepared in the medical center and spaces for employees will be enabled in the hospital’s library and classrooms.
