Uber drivers protested in Plaza Antares

On Monday, about 50 Uber drivers peacefully protested with the purpose of expressing their concerns to the company. The protest took place at Plaza Antares. They focused on payments in cash, security, reviews from users and the poor communication with the Company.

Drivers requested authorities to stop the informal treatment.

Julie Robinson, communication manager for Central America and the Caribbean, explained that the implementation of cash payment is an option that has been launched in 70 cities worldwide. It aims to benefits Uber users who don’t have bank accounts.

Regarding the security issue, Robinson guaranteed that it will still be provided before, during and after each trip, with a strict control and monitoring that will allow to track every driver’s movements.
