4 men will go to trial for removing organs from poor people

3 years later, the Criminal Court of San José set a date: four doctors and a Greek businessman will go to trial for apparently contacting poor people to remove their organs.

The debate will start on September 11th, 2017 an it is scheduled to conclude on November 30th.

The trial is still against a man surnamed Mora Palma, head of nephrology at Calderón Guardia Hospital (HCG), 3 surgeons surnamed Mauro Stamati, Fonseca Guzmán and Monge Monge and a trader called Katsigiannis Karkasi.

During the investigation 14 victims were detected. Apparently, They were all poor and, in exchange of money (3,000,000-10,000,000 colones), agreed to sell their organs so that they were placed in Israeli citizens. At least 14 kidneys were transplanted.
