The Municipality of Alajuela is refining the last details to celebrate on April 7th, parades and civic events commemorating the Battle of Rivas.

The activities will begin at 8:00 a.m. in Juan Santamaria Park, with protocol acts and then the parades with about 30 schools, colleges and communal bands from different parts of the country.

In the afternoon, the municipality will continue the celebrations with the presentation of “cimarronas”, masquerades and “marimbas”. At 7 o’clock in the evening, the traditional Muller Ball with the Lubín Barahona Orchestra will be performed. The activity will end with a powder game at 11 p.p.

The decision to transfer the 161st anniversary of the Battle of Rivas was agreed by the Alajuela Municipal Council and the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), coinciding with the celebration of Easter.
