Authorities arrested 4 more suspects of extracting gold

San Carlos Deputy Prosecutor is investigating 18 people suspected of attempting to extract gold from Crucitas area.

On March 20th, authorities were able to arrest 14 people who were caught in a river in a mountainous area. Now, the authorities arrested four more people and everyone is being investigated for the gold mining extraction.

At the site, officers of the Public Force caught them doing the illegal activity: they allegedly used mercury, a highly polluting chemical agent. In addition, they had tools and artifacts.
