“Los Moteles” Bridge in Zapote can be used again

December 21, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On Thursday, the Municipality of San José enabled transit through the bridge over the María Aguilar River, in the well-known sector of “Los Moteles” in Zapote.

The transit through the busy area was closed since September because the structure collapsed under the rains from storm Nate.

The municipality celebrated the opening of the bailey-type bridge, which would have meant an investment of nearly ¢ 79 million. Johnny Araya, mayor of the municipality, said he is pleased to be able to meet the time they had set.

We are also intervening the Lantisco stream where we are expanding a collector near Juan Rafael Mora school, to avoid flooding on Paseo Colón, specifically those that most affect the Children’s National Hospital.
We are now awarding a tender to build a canal to expand the capacity of the Ocloro River, near Barrio Luján, and we are in a bidding process to increase the capacity of Las Arias ditch, near the MOPT facilities, to carry a collector to La Paz park,”

concluded Araya.
