November 3, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Corn rice, bagels, tortillas, Payaguá Mascada and corn gruel will be part of “Ciudad de Sabores Fair” which will take place on November 5th, from 3 pm to 8 pm, in the Historic Center of Liberia on Calle Real. It will be open to the public and the entry is for free.

This activity is organized between the National University (UNA) and the Tourism Chamber of Guanacaste (CATURGUA). It aims to rescue the intangible, cultural heritage of the province.

John Guerrero, a student from the UNA, explained that it is the first fair with a sustainable approach.

We want to save our dishes and traditions. The dishes were selected, with a preliminary research,

declared the student. He also explained that the dishes are traditional foods from districts of Liberia, such as Mayorga, Curubandé, Candy Canes and Nacascolo.

There will also be cultural activities in the area, tours and workshops.
