Costa Rican wants to conquer the highest mountain in America

February 16, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Ricardo Arias, a Costa Rican sportsman, began an expedition to climb the Aconcagua hill, the highest mountain in the American continent.

Arias is part of a group of Central Americans who will attempt to climb the 6,960-meter-high hill from the city of Mendoza in Argentina. The expedition would take 2 weeks.

This is the second most prominent mountain in the world, and the most complicated aspect is the temperature, which can get to -40 degrees. We are very anxious because no member of the group has done it before,

explained Arias.

The Costa Rican national would join Gineth Soto, Edgar Usaga and Warner Rojas, who already conquered the Aconcagua.

Arias is just 21 years old and has already made different promotions in Italy, Mexico and Colombia.
