Porras was a Criminal Judge of San José and will now take over the functions of the Vice Ministry for the next four years.

According to the minister, one of the first actions will be to meet with the National Institute of Criminology, who is in charge of doing the studies to determine if an inmate may receive a benefit.

González already discussed the issue with President Alvarado and will undertake, together with Porras, the analysis actions to find the best solution to a problem that has affected the citizenship.

The new minister, who replaces Marco Feoli, will also try to strengthen the preventive programs and the attention of the people through the Civic Centers for Peace, which were built in every Province.
