On December 9th, residents from Quepos, Puntarenas and Manuel Antonio will welcome Christmas when a total of 15 boats, decorated with lights and Christmas motifs, illuminate around Marina Pez Vela.

It is the third edition of the Bright Light Boat Parade, a parade-contest in which besides showing to the audience your boat with Christmas songs, you will also be judged by a jury who will have the difficult task of choosing the first three places and the best-lit boat.

The Bright Lights Boat Parade is a light show to welcome Christmas along with live music, art and fireworks.

The activity will begin at 6:00 pm with the Big Band’s presentation. In addition, at 7:30 pm, there will be a Silbawalk Cirque show; at 8:30 pm the boat parade will start and, finally, at 9 : 30 pm the event will be closed with a spectacular show of fireworks.

It is offered to the general public, in order to celebrate and offer a different option for families and take advantage of the season to have fun and be together,

declared Jeff Duchesneau, from the organization.

This parade is common in other cities such as Newport, United States, where it is attended by about one million people.

The event is free, open to the public.
