Drug operations were conducted in San José

February 9, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A joint operation between the Public Force and the Municipal Police started on February 8th. It was conducted on 8th Avenue, 6th and 8th streets in the center of San José.

The operation was focused on barber shops and beauty parlors for potential drug trafficking offenses.

According to director of the Municipal Police of San José Marcelo Solano, authorities have received information from intelligence squads about beauty commercial premises, which apparently operate irregularly and would be related to the mentioned crimes. Officers worked with the canine services, since the anti-drug dogs are the ones that are doing the revision.

In addition, two more operations were carried out in the central town: one focused on large sellers and the other one focused on commercial premises for hostels. They could be related to other crimes.
