EBAIS patients are asked not to miss appointments

October 13, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The EBAIS centers managed by UNIBE reportedly have chronic patients who have lost up to 5 appointments for nonappearance. This cases are the reason why other policyholders, who really need the benefit, are unable to receive it.

We call for patients and relatives of senior citizens to be more attentive to appointments, because most of our chronic patients are the ones who have higher nonappearance rates,”

said Aaron Hernández, coordinator of the Health Areas of these EBAIS.

There is an awareness campaign aiming to make people who are not going to use this service to give way to someone who needs it, by cancelling the appointment. To do so, EBAIS enabled the call center 4000 to 6600, in the following schedule:

-Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
-Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Losing a doctor’s appointment implies a delay in the process of health. It directly affects other policyholders who were unable to access medical services due to lack of space, and it also alters the adequate monitoring of chronic patients, especially senior citizens.
