Foreigner used fake ID to create transport company

May 25, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A Nicaraguan man used a false identity to get a license for 19 trucks and acquire 13 properties. The man is even the president of a transport company.

The suspect, named Bermúdez Morales, was arrested in Alajuela in coordination with the Public Force and the Public Ministry for crimes of false identity.

Specifically, the subject changed his Nicaraguan identity for a fake Guatemalan nationality.

The foreigner travelled in and out of the national territory through the migratory post of Peñas Blancas with his real identity. However, to obtain its immigration status, Bermúdez presents a Guatemalan documentation as the birth certificate under the name of another person,”

said the report of the Professional Migration Police (PPM).

The alert allowed to confirm that the foreigner, beyond the irregular migratory activity, presented the fake documents to obtain the residence and to get a Guatemalan passport in the consulate located in San José.
