Four thousand athletes will run the San José Costa Rica Marathon

Everything is ready for the twentieth edition of the San José Costa Rica Marathon on December 3rd.

As revealed by the organization of the event, some 4,000 athletes will take the starting line in the seven different categories:
• 42 kilometers • 21 kilometers
• 10 kilometres • 4 kilometers
• Wheel chair • Children
• Senior Citizens

This time, several international athletes will come to the country, which will give it a higher level of competition.

“We will have the main attraction of the presence of elite runners of various nationalities, including the Kenyan George Towett and female Ruth Chepkoech,” said Juan Carlos Hernandez, President of the Marathon.

The San José Costa Rica Marathon is the only competition declared as of national interest by the Government of the Republic since 2009.

It will start at 6:00 am with start and finish at the National Stadium, with a route that will extend throughout the capital.
